To a Hummingbird

Between me and the world

You are like an extraterrestrial visitor

With a straw-like beak so light and so sharp

With wings so swift, so translucent

And so pleasantly mystifying.

Between you and the world

What am I to you?  

I am a constant seeker

A gigantic human admirer

Of the beautiful you in the magical space of Nature
